How to Deal with Negative People

I know. I haven’t posted in a hot minute, but I needed to vent. So here it is.

It is a fact of life that you will not make everyone happy. There are people you meet and there are people you will work for that will strip away every ounce of confidence you have in yourself. They will make you feel small and unworthy of the position you fill. These people, for whatever reason, don’t necessarily hate you, they are just unaware.

They are unaware of the constant struggles you go through. They are unaware of how their actions, however seemingly unrelated to your situation, just keep cutting deeper and deeper into your self-esteem.

People will tell you not to take it personally. And you’ll think “How can I not?” Every time you try and every time you put yourself out there, you are shut down, silenced, and then forgotten.

But those people are not you. They might think they know how you feel but they don’t because, again, they are not you. It’s okay to feel this way.

The truth of the matter is it doesn’t matter. Your feelings and your perspective will never be considered because this person is unaware of the effect they have on you.

They are on the outside and you are in.

You feel the hurt and they see the smile.

You will never be able to change the way these people look at you, or more accurately through you.

You can only change how these action make you feel.

Forget the negativity and look beyond their selfishness.

Become unaware.
